Abu Dhabi, UAE: International Women’s Day reminds us that meaningful progress happens when we lift one another. This year’s theme, Give To Gain, reflects a powerful principle: when women give their expertise, leadership and dedication, our societies gain stronger communities, healthier populations and resilient systems. By investing in women, we unlock the full potential of our communities.

In Abu Dhabi, women play a vital role in shaping the future of healthcare and advancing the Emirate’s vision for a smarter and more resilient health system. Women represent 63% of the healthcare workforce in Abu Dhabi, contributing across every level of the sector — from shaping policy and advancing research to delivering specialised clinical care and driving innovation across the health ecosystem.

Their leadership and expertise continue to strengthen a healthcare system that prioritises prevention, innovation and patient-centred care. By bringing diverse perspectives and collaborative approaches, women across the sector are helping to advance healthcare solutions that improve outcomes for individuals, families and communities.

At the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, we remain committed to creating an environment where women are empowered to lead, contribute and shape the future of healthcare. By supporting women and opening doors for the next generation, we are building a healthier and more inclusive future for all.
