- Initiative to Train 50,000 First-Line Responders in CPR.
UAE: The UAE Forum for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) was launched under the slogan “Together for a Ready Nation”, organized by the UAE National Program for Readiness and Medical Response “Jaheziya” and the Emirates CPR Association, under the supervision of the Abu Dhabi Medical Reserve and Volunteer Team. The event was hosted by the National Academy for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation with the participation of 1,500 on-site and virtual attendees from medical and emergency personnel working in public and private hospitals across the country, as well as consultants and specialists from the Arab Council for CPR, and members from the UAE, Egypt, Tunisia, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia CPR councils, along with Emirati medical reserve and volunteer teams. The forum was accredited by the Emirates Heart Center, the National Training Foundation “Tadreeb”, and Medic Conferences.
The forum aims to create a platform for exchange of expertise, focusing on innovation, improvement, and modernization of CPR techniques in critical emergency situations, and to develop guidelines for resuscitation using the latest virtual simulation technologies.

The event was organized by the UAE Initiative for Readiness and Medical Response “Jaheziya”, the UAE Program for Training the First Line of Defense “Tadreeb”, and accredited by the National Academy and National Training Foundation, under the supervision of the UAE Young Volunteer Leaders Program and the UAE Emergency Teams, in partnership with Medic Conferences.
During the forum, the National Program for Readiness and Medical Response in CPR “In’aash” was launched. This program aims to train 50,000 first-line responders and enhance CPR culture and medical and community readiness to respond to cardiac arrest cases according to a unified approach approved locally and internationally. The forum also introduced the Emirates CPR Association’s new medical guidelines application, which serves as an advanced educational platform facilitating healthcare practitioners’ access to the latest scientific recommendations and protocols approved in the UAE.
Dr. Adel Al Shamry Al Ajmi, President of the Emirates CPR Association, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, and CEO of the UAE National Program for Readiness and Medical Response “Jaheziya”, and Consultant in Cardiac Surgery and Intensive Care, affirmed that the association is proud to serve the nation through its scientific and professional mission. He added that the successes achieved are the result of the synergy between all participating entities, noting that the association has been nominated to chair the current session of the Arab Council for CPR, which represents officially recognized Arab councils and associations by the respective Ministries of Community Development.
The opening session featured a documentary film showcasing the achievements of the UAE CPR Council, which has significantly advanced the field of resuscitation in the region by attracting top global institutions and adopting national initiatives to enhance the health sector’s readiness and response to cardiac arrest cases in line with unified, internationally recognized standards.
The forum also witnessed the honoring of the “Jaheziya” Program, Emirati medical reserve and volunteer teams, and the UAE Mobile Heart Clinics, in recognition of their role in training thousands of first-line responders from public and private hospitals and managing mobile clinics that, in cooperation with the Department of Municipalities and Transport, have provided community services and awareness programs to various societal segments to raise awareness of heart diseases and best practices for prevention and treatment.

Participating companies and supporting entities were also honored for their effective contributions to the success of the forum and the advancement of its scientific mission.
Dr. Ahmed Samir, Chair of the Scientific Committee and one of the founders of the Emirates CPR Council, stated that preparation for the scientific program began at the start of the year, resulting in numerous scientific sessions covering all cardiac specialties, in addition to three specialized workshops targeting doctors, healthcare practitioners, and medical students to provide them with advanced practical and professional training.
Professor Olivier Jaquedin, Vice President of the Scientific Committee and French cardiac surgeon, highlighted that this year’s edition stood out for its rich scientific content, diverse speakers, and quality of participants, noting that the forum featured seven joint sessions with leading international associations, reinforcing its position as a global platform for knowledge and expertise exchange.
The forum concluded with a reaffirmation by the Emirates CPR Association of its commitment to continue supporting research, innovation, and medical education in partnership with the UAE National Program for Readiness and Medical Response “Jaheziya” and under the management of the National Training Foundation “Tadreeb”.
Dr. Saadi Al Hindi, Medical Director of “Tadreeb”, stated that the forum sheds light on the latest innovations in CPR science and the most recent developments in research, noting that it included seminars, workshops, and discussion sessions on resuscitation and first aid skills.
Al Anoud Al Ajmi, Director of the UAE Community and Specialized Volunteering Program, emphasized that the scientific sessions focused on developing local and regional healthcare systems, strengthening all links in the chain of survival, and enhancing trainees’ skills in applying the latest CPR and cardiac care guidelines, empowering them to serve their communities and give back to the nation.
