Emirates Airline Festival of Literature Brings Arabic Language into the Spotlight

Sahar Naja MahfouzDubai, 14 October, 2015: Celebrate the wonders of the Arabic language with the third annual Arabic Language Week, held by the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, in association with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and supported by Dubai Airports. The annual Week brings the importance of Arabic into focus from 18-22 October as students in Dubai are given the opportunity to participate in events conducted by local authors.

Confirmed guests for the Week include celebrated regional authors Ines Abbasi, Manal Al Ghdani, Nasser Al Jabri, Sheikha Al Mutairi, Noura Al Noman, Sabah Deebi, Rania Nahhas and Sahar Naja Mahfouz, who will be visiting schools throughout the city to hold creative writing workshops and interactive sessions and activities in Arabic.

Fatma Al Marri, CEO of Dubai Schools Agency at KHDA said of the Week, ‘As long-time supporters of the Festival, the KHDA is thrilled to be involved with the Week once again. This is such a unique way for children of the UAE to enjoy their native language and we hope it continues for many more years.’
