Abu Dhabi, UAE – 10 August 2017: Bollywood’s leading music composer duo Salim and Sulaiman Merchant are set to deliver an electrifying performance in Abu Dhabi on Friday 18 August, igniting the entertainment scene in the UAE capital as part of this year’s edition of Abu Dhabi Summer Season.
Organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), in partnership with leading event companies Abu Dhabi Summer Season is hosting a fantastic line-up of exciting emirate-wide activities with entertaining shows, stage performances, themed mall activations and enticing performances during the summer.
The world-renowned musician brothers, who are due to perform at the Emirates Palace as part of Namaste Abu Dhabi, will be accompanied by a troupe of 20 musicians and dancers, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in an exciting musical adventure. Their artistic compositions span across Bollywood, Hollywood, TV, advertising and music production, as well as incorporating cinematic, folk, electronica and sufi influences to guarantee crowd-pleasing performances.
Over the past decade the sibling duo has created a name for themselves as one of India’s most respected and prolific composers, having produced for over 100 Bollywood movies including Chak! De India, Fashion, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Band Baaja Baaraat and Heroine among others. They have also participated in around 20 TV shows including the very popular Indian Idol. The inspiring style of this talented duo has led them to perform at multiple concerts across the world, including their distinguished performance at the opening ceremony of FIFA World Cup 2010.
Salim and Sulaiman’s hit collaborations with Lady Gaga and Enrique Iglesias are a testament to their colossal fan-following not only in South Asia, but across the International music industry as well. They received the Best Music award for the film Fashion at New York’s Syracuse International Film Festival, IIFA, Filmfare, Zee Cine, Screen and several other awards. Their style of merging soulful Hindustani melodies with eclectic Western beats also earned them a nomination for a daytime Emmy Award for composing ‘Save The Tiger’ from the American animated children’s television series, Wonder Pets.
Namaste Abu Dhabi, brought to Abu Dhabi by Oberoi Middle East Events, joins an exciting line up of stage performances for residents and visitors to the emirate, presented as part of Abu Dhabi Summer Season 2017, which is currently underway till 20 August.
